Gorgon

Plates The Gorgons are terrifying monsters from Greek mythology.
Three sisters: Stheno, Euryale and Medusa were the most famous Gorgons of all. they represented the three forms of perversion – sexual, moral and intellectual. The legend was that Perseus, having been ordered to bring the head of Medusa to Polydectes, the king of the island of Seriphos, first visited the Graeae, sisters to the Gorgons, and forced them to tell him how to
reach the Nymphs. Suitably armed, he went to the Gorgons, and as they slept, cut off the head of Medusa and gave it to the Goddess Athena, who set it at the centre of her shield to terrorise her enemies.
So be careful not to stare at the plate too much… you might end up petrified!
